This session builds on what you’ve learned in the introduction to linocut class with one method of building and image in several colours from a single block! In this 3 hour workshop, we will show how to plan out an image including backgrounds, borders, vignettes, and ultimately the key layers with a single block. Once learned, this versatile and accessible technique can be applied to the creation of artist’s books, textile design, poster design and limited edition prints.
This class will cover carving out your image from a Silk Cut plate, making decisions about the sequence of cuts and colours, and hand-printing your first multi-colour image.
Please note: at this time we are offering this workshop to those who have taken our lino or woodcut printmaking basics workshops. If you have had similar experience and want to book in, please contact us through firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure we’re all on the same page!
